Program Description:

Spend 3 weeks earning 3 credits this May term in the classic city of Florence, Italy. Choose from courses in studio art, history and anthropology, and marketing, all taught in English at Richmond, the American International University. Courses are taught in English. Located in the Palazzo Michelozzi, the Richmond Study Center is located minutes from the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo and more. Classroom instruction is enriched with academic visits and field trips in and around Florence. Students reside in apartments with Internet access or may choose to live with an Italian family in a homestay option for an additional fee. A student meal plan enables students to explore Florentine culinary culture, included in the program fee.

Earn 3 credits enjoying 3 weeks in lovely Florence, Italy. Select a course from Italian Food and Culture; Psychology of Fashion and Luxury Goods; and Painting in Florence, I, II, or III. Students selecting Italian Food and Culture enjoy course related visits to local farms, a winery in the Chianti, a cooking class, slow food workshops and an oil mill. Students explore Florence and the surrounding towns and landscape enjoying cultural and social activities such as visits to the many museums, churches and cultural sites of Florence, Italian cooking classes, opera and ballet performances and day trips to surrounding cities.

AIFS is recognized as a premier provider of study abroad programs. Comprehensive fees cover tuition and housing with $800,000 in scholarship and grant funding available each year.
