Take a gap year on your terms — with AIFS.

We provide all-inclusive, flexible program options to customize your gap year adventure around the world. Mix and match destinations and academic terms for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to earn college credits, immerse yourself in a different culture, acquire global skills and expand your life experience.

AIFS Gap Year Programs are available to high school graduates 18 and over. 

Spend a semester or year in the charming, peaceful city of Salzburg with AIFS and earn up to 17 credits. Live in homestay, a Student Residence Hall, or, for an additional $1,900, in a shared apartment. Enjoy cultural and social activities such as Austrian cooking classes, a Sound of Music tour and visits to the Austrian Lake District, Salt Mines, Werfen Castle and Hellbrunn Palace. A 3-day trip to Vienna and day trip to Innsbruck are included. Optional excursions include a 2-night visit to London en-route to Salzburg (for students with AIFS flight package only), a 3-day trip to Prague, $395; and a day trip to Munich, $95.

AIFS in Salzburg offers a 2-week German language orientation course to help students from Beginner to Advanced adjust to life in Austria. In addition to the music courses offered, AIFS can arrange musical instrument instruction for interested students. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

AIFS is recognized as a premier provider of study abroad programs. Comprehensive fees include tuition and housing with $800,000 in scholarship and grant funding available. A meal plan, tours and excursions, insurance and 24-hour emergency service are also included. Coordinated round-trip flight packages are also available.
