Program Description:
Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI), is a pluralistic, college-prep, international study abroad program for high school students where the land of Israel is a living classroom. Students study the core curriculum, taught by our renowned Israel core educators, as they explore 4,000 years of Jewish and Israel history by climbing Masada with the Romans, fighting the Crusaders at Belvoir, or hearing the mystics at Tzfat. Students also continue with their general studies courses in small classes with our e?xperienced teachers during our academic year sessions. Based at our Hod HaSharon campus, students live a college campus-like lifestyle where they enjoy independence within a structured system supported by professional staff and dedicated counselors. Students develop lifelong learning and leadership skills and form strong friendships that last a lifetime within our diverse student body. Since 1972, over 23,000 students from North America and worldwide have cemented deep-rooted connections to Israel and the Jewish people through AMHSI. Our bold vision aspires to transform tomorrow’s generation today by building the future of Jewish leadership. The impact of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel is reflected in our alumni’s ongoing commitment to Israel and to Jewish life.

The AMHSI program is more than just a vacation or a tour – it is the opportunity for students to gain independence and learn how to live away from home – living with roommates, managing school assignments, free time, budgeting spending money – it is a lot like college and serves as a great transitional preparatory experience.
Setting Description:
AMHSI is located in a small suburban residential community called Hod HaSharon. Affectionately known as "the Hod", it is approximately 1 hour from Jerusalem and half an hour from the Tel Aviv metropolis. It is a lovely and secure neighborhood, within walking distance from cafés, restaurants, and shops of all varieties. Friendly and inviting, diverse and textured, Hod HaSharon affords students the opportunity for informal, everyday interactions with the local community. AMHSI's beautiful campus is a private section located within the Mosenson Youth Village, an international facility that educates Israeli students and is also a boarding school for students from around the world including the former Soviet Union, Germany, France, Hungary, Ethiopia, and others. While AMHSI has its own dormitories and academic facilities, the relationship with Mosenson enables informal peer-interaction amongst our students. The AMHSI campus consists of: • Administrative and academic classroom buildings
