Program Description:
Africa Atlantic is a private commercial farming venture located on the shores of Lake Volta. As a global company with a strategic flagship project in Ghana, Africa Atlantic Franchise Farms brings large-scale agricultural production to areas limited in their ability to scale. Africa Atlantic is working through and within local communities and partnering with key organizations to build on and expand the critical knowledge base required for sustainable change and success.

This internship is open to students with a minimum of a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or related field. Candidates are expected to have experience working in agriculture, as well as being a team player with a desire to learn. Tasks include (but are not limited to): -Responsible for assigned projects relating to commercial grain production that include: planting, Integrated Pest Management scouting, fertility monitoring, irrigation management and harvest. -Assist in the set-up, execution, monitoring and data collection of various field trials. -Evaluate tropical agronomic pests associated with large scale production and determine best practices for control or mitigation.

Setting Description:
Candidates should keep in mind that the location which they will be working in is extremely remote, and must be willing to spend long hours on the farm working alongside the other farm employees. A minimum 4-month commitment is required.
Cost:
All placement programmes are $180 per week, and for placements that are 6 weeks or less, there is a flat fee of $1080 for Ghana This fee covers: Utilities. Accommodation. Programme administration costs. Daily breakfast and dinner. A one-day Orientation in your placement destination. This fee does NOT include: Transport to and from the ACIPP house to your workplace.
