- Program Description:
Step into the country of Senegal for a memorable three weeks of study. As the country grows on the global landscape, dive into courses that analyze emigration and environmental sustainability or how music is used to give a voice to social justice and community activism. Each professor leads students throughout the city on site visits and introduces guest speakers for meaningful discussions and class engagement.
Courses are taught in English and are four credit hours each. Students follow one course:
Environment, Cultural Maritime Landscape and Emigration
Music, Belonging and Community Activism in Senegal
Academic support available.
Each student receives a culture package with differents events and excursions planned throughout the program. Visit Goree Island, take part in a drumming or dance lesson, and attend a local concert.
Immerse in the local culture: students are paired with an English-speaking host family via a thorough housing questionnaire.
On-site suppor is available 24/7 for all questions, big or small.

- The capital city of Senegal, Dakar is the westernmost point in mainland Africa. Home to a multitude of businesses, regional banks, NGOs, and a hub for education and the arts in West Africa, Senegal is one of the most economically and politically stable countries in the continent.
