Program Overview

Program Description:

Become a Parisian and seamlessly integrate into the French academic life. The Advanced immersion program has been specifically designed for American university and college students to immerse themselves into the French lifestyle academically and culturally. This program is designed for students looking to challenge themselves, by taking courses of their choosing (in-house or at a partner institution) in French, with academic and language support available in-house.

Academic Program

  • Enroll directly into the University of Paris system and take classes at one or more of our 10 partner institutions
  • Class available for all majors
  • In-house art history and political science courses available
  • Ongoing academic support including course and language tutoring, methodology session, and proofreading sessions

Cultural Program

  • Organized weekly performances at historic and noteworthy Paris venues: music, theater, contemporary circus, dance, etc.
  • Weekend excursions and day trips to visit notable sites throughout France
  • Free, unlimited access to museums, including the Louvre
  • Opportunities available to participate in sports, dance, volunteering, and more

Living Situation

  • Placement with French hosts for a truly immersive day-to-day experience
  • Assistance with independent housing, if desired, in a “foyer” (a student dorm)

Summer Internship Option

  • Program partnership with Internships in Francophone Europe (IFE)
  • Placements made to best suit students’ professional goals
Setting Description:
The APA Paris offices are located in the south of Paris, on the charming little street of Villa d’Alésia. Located five minutes from the Alésia metro stop, it is lined with artists’ studios and private homes with gardens. The APA Paris office has space reserved for students to meet informally, study, or relax and is equipped with Wi-Fi, reference books, and several computers.
Cost:
17, 850 - 24, 350 USD. Tuition and fees depend on meal and board options and includes airport pickup, 2 weekend, 2 day excursions, 12 cultural performances, metro pass, museum pass and more.
