Program Overview

Program Description:

The Francophone world has never been more accessible! Carefully designed, this virtual six-week summer program provides an array of multi-faceted courses, individualized language support, and inviting cultural activities. Each course has one or two professors from one of APA's host countries: France, Morocco, or Senegal and guest speakers will visit the virtual classroom to contribute their ideas and knowledge to the topic at hand. 

Follow one or two courses from the following. Each course receives four credit hours.

Taught in French:

  • Colonization, Decolonization and End of the French Colonial Empire: France and Senegal
  • Cross-Cultural Management
  • Culture and Women's Rights in the Francophone World
  • Development Economics
  • Francophone Cinema in Focus: Sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb
  • Gender and Francophone Literature 

Receive one-on-one customized language support with a French professor to proofread and edit class papers and work on oral expression and comprehension.

Taught in English:

  • Cross-Cultural Management
  • Culture and Women's Rights in the Francophone World
  • Francophone Cinema in Focus: Sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb

Outside of the virtual classroom, take part in weekly cultural activities like Arabic calligraphy, yoga, and Francophone cooking lessons.
