Program Description: American students become visiting members of the Junior Commons Room of an Oxford College and participate in British student life while being taught by Oxford University faculty. All instruction at Oxford University is arranged on an individual basis. Prior to arriving in Oxford, participants identify a topic to be studied in a primary tutorial and a secondary subject to be studied in a secondary tutorial. The program's academic advisors at Oxford will assign two tutors to each student all tutors are fellows or lecturers of the Colleges at Oxford University. These tutors will, in conference with the students, develop a detailed and highly individualized academic program of tutorial meetings. Up to eight credit hours may be earned in the primary tutorial; four or five credits can be earned in the secondary tutorial (maximum of thirteen credit hours for a single term's work).
