Program Description: Primarily for students of business or technology interested in cross-cultural perspective of the Eastern Mediterranean. Students enroll in regular courses at host institution supplemented by special seminar (Crossroads of Culture: Europe and the Middle East), modern Greek tutorial study, and individualized study programs through tutorial instruction. Fields of study include anthropology, archeology, business, economics, history, humanities, linguistics, literature, and social sciences.

Students are placed in classes with Israelis and other students from overseas and in dormitory suites that include Israeli students. Program offers optional study tours and pre-semester ulpan or kibbutz program. Fields of study includes anthropology, archeology, history, humanities, language study, linguistics, literature, philosophy, religion, and social sciences. The curricular range is even greater if the student's Hebrew Language skills are sufficiently advanced to enable study in Hebrew. Internships and volunteer opportunities are available.

Police Federation of England and Wales

Program Description: This 2-week program begins with a preparatory distance learning tutorial for those outside the Capital District. The tutorial focuses on British policing and the justice system of England, with an emphasis on community policing. Students choose from among the central concerns of community policing: domestic violence, public order, and the patrol function. Each student develops a research project supervised by an Empire State College mentor. The research project is completed in the United States after the field study and research in the United Kingdom. While in Surrey, students study with practitioners from the Police Federation of England and Wales.
Eligibility Requirements: Some study of criminal justice or experience as practitioner
Credits: 4 undergraduate; 3 graduate
