Internship Program at the C.L.I. Dante Alighieri
Nassau Community College Student Transfer Credit
Course Title: International Field Training, IWS 142
Credits: 3 credits
Purpose Of the Course
To afford students the opportunity to enrich their work experience, learn other
methods of operation and to apply the concepts learned in the classroom and during
the Practicum. Students will practice these skills while living in a foreign country
among people of different cultures.
Course Objectives
- To provide the student with an active work experience abroad in their major
field of interest.
- To provide an international work experience that will enrich students both
academically and personally.
- To provide students with the opportunity to experience different cultures,
to live and travel in foreign countries, making the students more rounded and
well-informed individuals. To help them to be better able to make important life
and business decisions throughout their lives.
- To provide students with the opportunity to become involved internationally
through work experience, and to adjust to a new work environment, some involving
U.S. branches.
- To provide a program that will bring to a U.S. employer an international aspect
and influence befitting both the student and the employer.
- To provide students with a learning experience from mentors abroad both
professional and academic.
- To give the students a new approach toward their chosen profession and
employment. lationships and discuss new potential opportunities.
Evaluations
The work site supervisor and Program Director will complete student evaluations.
Students will work a maximum of 360 hours.
