The Place

Kingston upon Hull began to develop as England's premier east coast port in the 18th century. With a population of over 300 000 Hull maintains strong links with and easy access to Continental Europe, having its own Ferry Port allowing travellers to cross the North Sea overnight. Hull is accessible by British Rail and national Express Coaches from all major cities in England, Scotland and Wales.

The University of Hull is a selective government funded university. It is non denominational, co-educational, residential with undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. It is situated on the northern side of the city, only 2 miles from the center.

The Program

The Study Abroad at Hull (SAH) program allows participants the opportunity to experience an academic year of semester at the University of Hull. All SAH students are considered as undergraduates of Hull, you will register, attend lectures and tutorials and sit examinations like all home students. You will, of course be entitled to the privileges granted such students (including an e-mail account).

Your academic achievements in Hull will be recognized by your home institution, we will send a transcript of your grades on completion of your time with us.

The programs of study you can chose from include Accounting and Finance, American Studies, Applied Physics, Biological Sciences, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Drama, Dutch Studies, Economic and Social History, Economics, Electronic Engineering, English, European Studies, French, Gender Studies, Geography, German, Hispanic Studies, History Art History, Italian, Law, Management, Mathematics and Statistics, Music, Nursing Studies, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Scandinavian Studies, Social Policy, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Southeast Asian Studies, Spanish, and Theology.

The academic year runs from September through June, comprising of two 15 week semesters.

The Cost

Full Year Tuition £4950 (approx. $7200)
Semester Tuition £2575 (approx. $3800)
The University of Hull owns and manages a wide variety of accommodation - from traditional catered Halls of Residence to self catered student houses. Prices start from around £520 per semester (under $800). Accommodation is guaranteed to students attending the university for a full academic year. Hull is not as expensive a place to live as most other major British cities, food, clothes and entertainment are reasonably priced.

The University of Hull is registered with the US Department of Education in Washington, DC, as an eligible foreign institution for the Federal Loan Program.
