SIT Study Abroad In Kampala, Uganda's thriving capital, you examine issues of social and economic development, working closely with faculty and students from Makerere University. Through an in-depth, hands-on practicum with one of the country's many international or grassroots development agencies, you deepen your understanding of the practice of development work.

Overview Intensive Language Study: Luganda; Development Studies Seminar: Ugandan Life and Culture, Development Studies, Educational Excursions; Field Study Seminar; and Development Practicum. (16 credits in total)

Setting Six weeks homestay in Kampala and one week in a rural area. Field visits to organizations with ongoing development projects and educational exursions to Western Uganda, Rwanda, and rural areas in Eastern Uganda.

Value Please inquire for costs: Fees include tuition, full room and board, all field trips and related fares, health and accident insurance, and other direct program expenses. Participants pay for international airfare and domestic travel to the point of departure from the USA.
