Setting Because of its innumerable characteristic steeples, Prague is called the hundredtowered city. The newly joined EU member is a perfect example of the tumultuous and steady development of a society—most recently transitioning from its communist past. Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) - Murray State University (MSU) As the "heart of Europe," Prague provides an ideal location for the study of European art and political history in the context of the Holy Roman Empire. Prague is also particularly well-suited for the examination of the transition from east-to-west and cross-cultural exchange in Europe.
Overview KIIS Prague is a five-week program open to students of sophomore and higher status who are in good academic standing. Students may register for one or two courses (3 credit hours each). Organized excursions include Prague castle, the Old Jewish cemetery, the Old-New Synagogue of Josefov, the Nazi concentration camp in Terezin, and southern Bohemia.
