Overview Our spring quarter program spends two weeks in each of four remarkable areas allowing a thorough exploration of distinct threatened ecosystems of global significance and their human communities. We take a case study approach exploring a cutting edge environmental issue in each area. You will simultaneously be studying in three courses: (1)Field Biology of Peru; (2) Field Geology of Peru; and (3) Environmental Science, Ethics and Public Policy of Peru. The course includes instruction in introductory Spanish.
Setting By studying the physical and biological diversity of Peru you will gain a solid foundation upon which to consider environmental science, ethics and public policy. Our faculty have extensive experience conducting research, teaching, running government ministries, intergovernmental programs and non-government organizations.
