SIT Study Abroad Explore Oman in the context of social and economic development, global diplomacy, inter-Arab relations, and regional reform. Although one of the more traditional countries in the Gulf, Oman's domestic and international policies are uniquely pragmatic and independent for the region.
Overview Program includes an intensive 6-credit Arabic language component, 4-credit Diplomacy, Development, and Identity in the Middle East Seminar, 2-credit Field Study Seminar, and four-credit, four-week Independent Study Project.
Setting Based in the capital city of Muscat, a meeting point of Arab, Asian, and African civilizations. Includes a 9-13-week homestay in Muscat, week-long rural visit to Nizwa, excursions to Sur and Salalah; Doha, Qatar; and United Arab Emirates:
Value Please inquire for costs: Fees include tuition, full room and board, all field trips and related fares, health and accident insurance, and other direct program expenses. Participants pay for international airfare and domestic travel to the point of departure from the USA.
