Overview The English Language Institute, a part of the Division of Professional and Continuing Education at The University of Texas at El Paso, is specifically designed to help learners gain functional command of English in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The Program operates to meet a number of student goals: (1) To pass the TOEFL and to have a successful academic experience in an American institution of higher learning; (2) To use English in business and other vocational pursuits; and (3) To satisfy language and cultural needs for social interaction with English speakers. Courses during the fall, spring, and summer meet for intensive eight-week sessions to help students learn English in the shortest possible time. In each eight-week session, classes meet five hours a day, Monday thru Thursday. TOEFL PREPARATION TOEFL preparation is offered to advanced students. University Of Texas at Arlington The ELI at UTA is a full intensive English and academic skills program, with excellent facilities, labs, and teachers.
Overview The ELI has 6 levels of instruction, from beginning to advanced, which cover all language skills as well as academic preparation.
Setting UTA is located in Arlington, a city of 350,000 which is near Dallas and next to Fort Worth. The UTA campus is safe, friendly, and in a pleasant environment.
Value The ELI provides solid instruction in a good location, with modern labs, for low cost. Academically eligible students may receive conditional admission into UTA.
