Arizona State University - American English and Culture Program Established in 1974, the American English and Culture Program offers specially designed English language programs for on-native speakers of English. Overview Advanced-level AECP students who have demonstrated academic ability are eligible to enroll part-time in credit classes at Arizona State University while completing English language instruction. SPRING INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE CENTER SILC offers five nine-week terms a year with six levels of proficiency. Spring International is located on the Auraria HIgher Education Center campus serving the University of Colorado at Denver, Community College of Denver, and Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Overview The program is an English for Academic Purposes program with courses focused on grammar, reading/writing, listening/speaking and related electives. Examples of elective courses are TOEFL Preparation, ESL on the Internet, Advanced Pronunciation Practice, and Conversation.

Setting The center is located in downtown Denver on a 171-acrea campus serving three institutions of higher education. SILC is located in the Tivoli Student Union, the hub of campus activity.

Weber State University The ESL Program registers only 20 students per class, provides academic credit that counts towards a bachelors degree, and places students according to their English level abilities. Students can complete the program in one academic year (one or two semesters) and receive computer assisted writing program courses.

Overview All levels of ESL offer a full-time program of instruction which gives the students 4 hours per day of intensive langauge classroom instructin. In addition, students are required to complete special assignments outside of class providing approximately 20-25 hours of structured language acquisition.
