Overview The CIEE Study Center at the University of Jordan provides a challenging academic program combined with an in-country cultural experience and intensive language study. Students gain a greater understanding of the Middle East, with specific emphasis on the Jordanian perspective and experience.

Setting Founded in 1962, the University of Jordan is the oldest public four-year institution of higher education in Jordan. The university has 13 academic faculties and 65 academic departments serving a diverse student body of nearly 35,000, including 1,800 international students. It was the first Arab university in the Middle East to use the U.S. model for academic credits. The university campus provides opportunities for students to interact and socialize with Jordanian students, and has cafes, sports facilities, a bank and a mosque.
Value CIEE fees for 2006 - 07 include tuition, housing, local transportation stipend, some meals (depending on housing choice), optional airport meet and greet, on-site orientation, cultural activities such a 3-day trip to the south of Jordan and a 1-day trip to the north of Jordan to visit Jerash and Um Qais, a local excursion to a Palestinian refugee camp, host institution identity card, admission fees to host university events, immersion activities including language partners, comprehensive student handbook, pre-departure advising and insurance.

SIT Study Abroad With its strategic location and its reputation as a moderate Arab state, Jordan has historically served as a conduit of trade and communication, perhaps nowhere so famously an in its critical efforts to further the Middle East Peace Process. From the base in Amman, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, this program provides firsthand insight into a modern Middle Eastern state grappling with regional conflict, political responsibility, and social change.

Ali Baba International Center An intensive summer program is a package consisting of the followings: a 1-month long intensive elementary Arabic language course offered the university of Jordan, a comfortable accommodation, and a weekly tour to a historical and touristic site in Jordan. Four summer programs are offered every year: in June, in July, in August, and in September.

Overview Special program for teaching Jordanian or Egyptian colloquial: Concentrates on daily conversation needs and aims to teach the student at the quickest pace possible. It draws its material from books written in Jordan as well as in the U.S.Sweis Center exist presently in Amman
