Hansard Society The Hansard Scholars Programme is a unique opportunity for international undergraduate and postgraduate students to study British politics at the London School of Economics and undertake an internship at the heart of the British political system. Past internships have included placements in the Houses of Parliament (in the offices of MPs and Peers), government departments, NGOs, charities and media organizations.
Overview As part of the Programme, all Scholars participate in a four-day political study visit to Edinburgh where they visit the Scottish Parliament and meet leading figures from the world of Scottish politics. This is followed later in the Programme by a day-trip to Oxford to attend specially-tailored lectures at the world-famous university.
Setting The classes take place at the LSE and Hansard Scholars have full access to LSE facilities. Scholars are accommodated in central London, so are never far from the exciting cultural opportunities the city has to offer (each Scholar is also provided with a London Transport travelcard for the duration of his/ her stay).
