Setting The oldest university in Central Europe, Charles University (CU) was founded in 1348 by the Czech King Charles IV, and is the premier institution of higher education. Today, it makes use of more than a dozen facilities throughout the city and its environs and has no central campus. Charles University enrolls nearly 45,000 students in 17 faculties, with a teaching staff of more than 3,000. Students also have the opportunity to study film at FAMU and spend much time at the CIEE Study Center.

State University of New York (SUNY) The State University of New York (SUNY) currently offers more than 400 overseas study programs in more than 50 countries: in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Programs range from 2-3 week intensive courses to a semester or academic year abroad. Courses are available in more than 100 subjects, ranging alphabetically from aboriginal studies and aerospace engineering to western philosophy and women's studies. While many programs focus on language learning and are conducted in the language of the host country, many others are conducted wholly or partly in English.
Overview The State University of New York overseas study programs are, with some exceptions, open to all SUNY and non-SUNY students, with eligibility ranging from first year to graduate level. For many undergraduates, the best time to study abroad has traditionally been during the junior year; however, well-prepared sophomores, and occasionally freshmen, are eligible for some programs. Program costs are usually only slightly higher than on-campus costs of tuition, room and board (exclusive of international air fare) and in some countries expenses are actually less than they would be on campus. Study abroad students pay SUNY tuition (in-state or out-of-state, depending upon New York State residency) plus costs, which vary from program to program. Matriculated students at a State University of New York campus register on their home campus for programs offered at any other campus. They are thus able to maintain residency and eligibility for financial aid. (NOTE: Upper-division students registering at community colleges for overseas programs should consult with their registrar's office about appropriate credit.)

University of Economics Prague One or two- semester interdisciplinary program, taught in English, open to university students at undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on the past, the present and future of Central and East European economies. Credits are transferable to most universities around the world.
Overview Courses examine economic, social and political aspects of Central and Eastern European countries, as well as their languages and culture.
