SIT Study Abroad This cross-national program examines the cultural and ideological realignments in the former Yugoslavia. Through lectures and seminars in the medieval Croatian capital of Zagreb and field excursions throughout the region, you study the increasing importance of women's partnerships with nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), the media, and other advocates as these changing societies confront the challenges of a new era.
Overview Intensive Language Study: Serbo-Croatian; Gener, Transformation and Civil Society Seminar: Societies of the Former Yugoslavia, Grassroots Movements, Politics and Civil Society, Peacebuilding; Educational Excursions; Field Study Seminar; and Independent Study Project (16 credits in total).
Setting Six-week homestay in Zagreb; three weeks of site visits and educational excursions to Serbia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to give a broader context to contemporary conflicts stemming from war and its aftermath.
Value Fees include tuition, international transportation, full room and board, all field trips and related fares, health and accident insurance, and other direct program expenses. Participants pay for domestic travel to the point of departure from the USA.

University of Split The primary emphasis of scientific research carried out by the University is in areas and disciplines which concentrate on the natural, cultural-historic, social, economic and other characteristics of the region as a part of Croatian Adriatic area and Mediteranean region as a whole.
Overview tourism in the region, maritime law, nautical science, naval architecture and certain other specific scientific disciplines (chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering), all of which distinguish the University of Split not only in Croatia but beyond its borders.

University of Zagreb, The The University of Zagreb is the oldest Croatian university and also the oldest university in South-Eastern European. The university was officially founded 23 September 1669 by Emperor and King Leopold I Habsburg who issued a diploma granting the status and privileges of a university to the Jesuit Academy of the Royal Free City of Zagreb. According to that document the study of philosophy in Zagreb acquired a formal and legal status as Neoacademia Zagrabiensis and officially became a public institution of higher education.
