Setting Macquarie University has over 24,000 students and 1,500 staff members; students come from over 100 countries to study there. The Victoria Student Union offers opportunities to join over 50 clubs and societies, including academic, athletics, religious and other personal interest groups. The School for Field Studies Much of Australia's remaining rainforest is protected, but the country still struggles with the need for resource use and the fate of degraded lands. Students gain a knowledge of rainforest ecology and work with members of the community on issues of rainforest restoration and rehabilitation.
Overview Learn about the effects of global warming on rainforest health and help us with the rainforest restoration project ever attempted. Travel to New Zealand and compare and contrast ecological, social and economic factors that have shaped natural resource management in Queensland and Northern NZ.
