Several projects are available, depending on the time of year. Volunteers can also teach other skills, such as leadership and entrepreneurialism, or provide information on other topics such as health care and disease prevention.

The Arusha Project's Abroad Program is a grass-roots effort to promote HIV/AIDS relief and equal genders in East Africa. We partner with 10 non-governmental organizations, palliative care centers, district hospitals and orphanages to provide agriculture, microfinance, and volunteer support. Volunteer placements include room and board, Swahili instruction (no proficiency required), medical and evacuation insurance, local transportation, and an array of cultural excursions.

World Endeavors Teaching Children in Tanzania

Volunteers help shape young lives in Tanzania by sharing their English skills and teaching talents. They teach English along with many other subjects to elementary school children from 5-12 years of age. During the first week of classes, volunteers will shadow a local teacher to become familiar with the school, the children, and the curriculum. If the volunteer is ready at the beginning of the second week, he or she may begin teaching independently.

World Endeavors Health Care and Health Education in Tanzania

The health clinics and hospitals of Tanzania are overworked, understaffed, and suffer from shortages of supplies. Volunteers who participate in this program will have the opportunity to shadow doctors and nurses, as well as help out with the routine functioning of the clinic.
Participants with education and experience in health care, such as doctors, nurses and other licensed professionals are greatly needed, but untrained individuals with a sincere desire to help can also make a difference. No experience necessary.
