Program Description:
Central offers a taste of real-life work in a truly vibrant European city. With an extensive network of internship sites in a wide variety of disciplines, your internship experience is tailored to your academic interests and career goals. Past students have interned in art, business, politics, marketing, theatre, social services and more. Internships are non-salaried, for credit only and recommended for undergraduates as well as recent graduates.

Your first two weeks of this eight week program will comprise of classes, activities and excursions providing you with firm understanding of UK life and its workplaces. The remaining six weeks, you will work full-time at your internship placement Monday – Thursday and attend class one evening each week where you examine and discuss your experiences in Britain.

Your residence at Woburn Place includes •24-hour security staff, as well as a controlled, electronic entry system and CCTV •double rooms •shared bathroom facilities •common room with TV and DVD •internet connection via in room data ports and Wi-Fi internet in all bedrooms and common areas •laundry facility •full kitchen and dining room •bike storage •vending machine •wheelchair access No meal plan. Students prepare meals in the apartment kitchens or eat out at the numerous restaurants in the nearby neighborhood. The program fee also includes •6 semester hours of credits (pass/no record): 3 internship credits and 3 cross-cultural credits •Accommodation at Woburn Place •On-site advising and oversight with London program director and staff •Personal Central College Abroad Advisor for pre-departure support •Optional online pre-departure course •Full on-site orientation including guided city tour and West End Performance •Two-month Travelcard for Zones 1 & 2 on London underground and buses (approximately a $300 value) •Lectures on contemporary British events •University of London Union (ULU) membership, (leisure and gym access at a reduced rate) •International Student Card •Transcript •Weekly activities and excursions are organized
