Studying the ocean and human interaction with the ocean, students undertake coursework ashore in oceanography, nautical science and maritime literature and history, followed by a practical component of hands-on marine science and blue-water sailing in the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean. Students are full participants aboard in the operation and navigation of a 134' brigantine with a scientific mission and ongoing student research projects. All programming is accredited and available for any major.

Topics include health care policy from an AIDS patient's perspective; historical perspective, health promotion and prevention, organization, objectives, stakeholders, cost containment.
Students will spend 2 weeks in Copenhagen followed by a study tour to Amsterdam (Faculty: Henning Sandau, Bradley Boekeloo)

HIV/AIDS in Europe: Comparative Perspectives, Biomedical focus Prerequisites: 1 year of biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry
(Majors: Biology, Pre-Medicine, Public Health)
Topics include biological characterization of HIV (virology, immunology and epidemiology), medical and clinical aspects (development of HIV infection, opportunistic infections, treatments, complications and co-infections), applied policies and practices by governmental, educational, and community institutions in response to clinical and scientific data.
Students will spend 2 weeks in Copenhagen followed by study tour to London (Faculty Thomas Benfield and Michael Ulrich)
There is also an optional weekend extension to attend Gay Pride London activities (July 4 - 6).
