Northwestern University

This Northwestern program is hosted by the Medical School at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. In addition, students participate in weekly excursions to cultural and historical sites, as well as site visits to health agencies and clinics. As part of the program, students work in an indigenous rural village for three days.

The State University of New York (SUNY) currently offers more than 400 overseas study programs in more than 50 countries: in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Programs range from 2-3 week intensive courses to a semester or academic year abroad. Courses are available in more than 100 subjects, ranging alphabetically from aboriginal studies and aerospace engineering to western philosophy and women's studies. While many programs focus on language learning and are conducted in the language of the host country, many others are conducted wholly or partly in English.

Imagine traveling through the Avenue of the Dead or climbing the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon or spending time with vibrant traditional ethnic groups in the heart of old Mexico, Oaxaca. Through tours of Mexico City and Oaxaca, both ancient and modern Mexican civilization will come alive. Students will earn 3 Brookdale credits for ANTH 105 (Cultural Anthropology) or ANTH 115 (Archeology) as they explore our southern neighbor, Mexico, a country rich in tradition, history, art, and vitality.

This intensive program will be taught in English on the beautiful Mexico City campus of Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and is aimed at affording students a solid working knowledge of critical legal issues in Mexico. Taught by highly credentialed academics and practitioners who have hands-on practical experience, the program entails an array of courses, as well as escorted visits to Mexican legal institutions, i.e., the Supreme Court, etc.

The Center for International Education (CIEL) at Universidad La Salle takes pride in promoting intercultural programs designed to build bridges between Mexico and other nations. Through intellectually-challenging and emotionally-stimulating learning experiences, they bring students face-to-face with Mexican culture. Students will work in an NGO, take intensive Spanish language classes, and a variety of classes about Mexican history, culture, and traditions.
