Nuclear Energy - Intro

2 courses; 6 credits; in English: ME 493 “Intro to Nuclear Energy.” This course explores the basics of nuclear energy and radiation, and applications such as power production and medicine. Instructors will be faculty from Belgium Nuclear Energy Network and UCL, and include field work at the Belgian Nuclear Reserach facility in Mol, Belgium. IS 210 focuses on cross-cultural awareness and intercultural communications, conducted in the rich multicultural context of Belgium, the political capital of Europe. Includes an introduction to basic French language, and draws upon local resources and history to illuminate European culture.
