Curriculum Highlights: Global Travel; Cultural exploration, Oceanography; Marine Biology; Student Leadership Development; Seamanship; PADI scuba diving and International Yachtmaster Training Sailing certification; American Red Cross first aid and CPR; Community service and Conservation projects.
Overview: A unique educational adventure set aboard traditionally rigged schooners while voyaging throughout the world's oceans. Student's may select to sail the near coastal waters of the Caribbean Sea or cross a major ocean, such as the Indian, Atlantic or Pacific. Sea|mester is fully accredited. Based upon principles of experiential education, the primary academic foci of oceanography, marine biology, nautical science, and leadership are brought from the textbook into real life application.
Setting Description: Dependent upon location. S/Y Ocean Star operates in the Caribbean Basin. S/Y Argo circumnavigates the globe over a two-year period. Voyage duration ranges from 20 to 90 days.
