New York University Tisch School of the Arts is one of the nation&s leaders of undergraduate and graduate study in the performing and media arts. Tisch offers students from other colleges and universities an array of opportunities to study with Tisch during the spring, summer, and fall. Visiting students are invited to take on a global view of the arts and study abroad with Tisch in intriguing international locations such as Accra, Dublin, Florence, Johannesburg, London, Prague, and Shanghai, just to name a few. Our partnerships with world-famous institutions and organizations, as well as our faculty and master teachers, who are industry professionals, provide immeasurable training. Spring at Tisch offers undergraduate students a concentrated semester program in the arts while living in New York City, the artistic and cultural capital of the world. The summer also provides credit and noncredit courses as well as media internships and certificate programs. During the summer, high school students are invited to study with Tisch in New York City, Dublin, or Paris.

Our semester program with the Shanghai Theatre Academy offers students a unique semester of drama training. Students study Chinese opera training, which includes singing, speaking, gesturing and fighting. Stage design also is incorporated into the course work as well as an introduction to Mandarin and a survey of the arts and culture of China.
Students earn 16 points (credits).

Our semester program in Shanghai incorporates the traditional art and culture of China with contemporary influences. Tisch partners with the Shanghai Theatre Academy, one of China's most prestigious art institutes, to offer students a unique semester of drama and technical theater training. Students select one of three tracks: Chinese Opera; East Acts West: An Eastern Approach to Western Performance; or Design and Technical Theatre. Students also take a language course, Introduction to Mandarin, as well as an interdisciplinary arts and culture course. Students earn 18 points (credits).

Our semester program in Prague offers students the opportunity to study 35mm film directing and cinematography, plus additional courses in screen writing, arts and culture, history and acting. This program is offered in collaboration with the Prague Film and Television Academy of the Performing Arts (FAMU) one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious film schools.
Students earn 18 points (credits).

Our summer program in Prague is a master class in 35 mm directing and cinematography. Students also attend screenwriting and editing workshops, as well as study the movements and themes in Czech cinema. This program is offered in collaboration with the Prague Film and Television Academy of the Performing Arts (FAMU), one of the premier film schools in Europe. Students earn 8 points (credits).

Our program in London offers students the opportunity to study Shakespeare and develop the skills necessary for performance of Elizabethan and Jacobean drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Students may also study playwriting and screenwriting with instructors from the Writer's Guild of Great Britain as well as television production at the BBC. The program is offered in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Students earn 16-18 points (credits).

Students trace London's rich history in the arts, exploring cinema and theatre, as well as an interdisciplinary approach to art, architecture, and photography. The program combines lectures and discussions with field trips to museums, galleries, and historic landmarks. Students are introduced to the great variety of theatrical activity in London, in which students attend performances chosen for their ability to show London's rich theatrical culture, and attend lectures by writers, producers, directors, actors, or set, costume, and lighting designers. Students are familiarized with Shakespeare's work across the entire canon through a blend of academic and theatrical approaches that consider the art of the writer, the validity of the work in a modern context, and the interpretive choices made by the director, actor, designer, etc. Essential developments in British cinema history are studied, focusing on landmark films and directors, including such auteurs as Alfred Hitchcock, Carol Reed, Mike Leigh, and Ken Loach, whose personal styles characterize their very individual approach to cinema and contemporary life.
Students earn 8 points (credits).

Our program in Paris offers students the opportunity to produce short nonfiction video pieces incorporating some aspect of the city as the subject. French cinema, specifically the French New Wave, is also studied. Students earn 8 points (credits).

Our program in Nice offers students the opportunity to study 3-D animation and experimental video, introducing them to digital cinematography. Students create their own videos, incorporating techniques in 2-D and 3-D animation. The program takes place at the Villa Arson, the national center for contemporary art in Nice. Students collaborate with other filmmakers at the Museum of Contemporary Arts, Direction des Affaires Culturelles, and Telecom Valley-Sofia-Antipolis. Students earn 8 points (credits).

Our program in Dublin offers students the opportunity to study arts and culture, drama, music video production, playwriting, recorded music, and screenwriting while living in this vibrant European capital. The program is offered in collaboration with faculty from several Irish universities, Hot Press magazine and various theater companies. A community arts project is also run in conjunction with the National College of Art and Design and the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Students earn 16-18 points (credits).

Our program in Dublin offers acting, cinema studies, and puppetry courses. Students receive an introduction to Irish theatre and train with one of Ireland's leading professional theatre directors for the techniques needed to perform contemporary Irish plays. Training includes voice, movement, physical character, and scene study. Students may also study cinema in contemporary Ireland; examining the history of Irish cinema and how cinematic styles and themes have evolved since the 1980s. In the puppetry course, students train in puppet manipulation, acting with puppets, voicing multiple characters, and staging puppetry and study puppet culture and the world history of puppetry. Students earn 8 points (credits).

Our programs in Florence include acting, commedia dell'arte, and television writing. In the acting program, students train in mask work and circus skills, as well as scene improvisation, Along with studio work, students study the historical development of theatre and the visual arts in 17th-century Italy and how they influenced each other. In television writing, students develop scripts as both head writer/show-runner, as well as support writer. Scenes from the scripts are shot on location in Florence. Students live and attend classes at NYU's La Pietra, a 57-acre estate with an extensive Renaissance art collection and formal gardens. Students earn 8 points (credits).

The International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam offers serious acting students the opportunity to deepen their existing technique and to be exposed to a wide range of approaches to live performance and the creation of original work. Training includes contemporary and classical scene study, physically based acting (Viewpoints and early Grotowski), action-based script analysis, postmodern dance, and commedia, as well as self-scripting and image-based original theatre. Students earn 8 points (credits).

For more than 40 years, Tisch School of the Arts has drawn on the vast resources of New York University and New York City to create an extraordinary training ground for artists and scholars to become a premier center in the world for performing and media arts training. In 2007, NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia opened in Singapore, offering students an opportunity to receive the same training available in New York. At Tisch Asia, students have the opportunity to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in dramatic writing or film and television. A program in animation and visual arts is currently being developed.

Students from other colleges and universities are invited to experience professional training with Tisch School of the Arts, one of the nation's premier centers for the study of media and performing arts. Our campus is located in Greenwich Village in New York City, where arts and culture meet the classroom. Spring at Tisch offers undergraduate students a concentrated semester in the arts paired with the exclusive cultural sites and sounds that could only be home to New York City. Programs include acting, cinema studies, dramatic writing, filmmaking, and photography and imaging. During the summer visiting students may select from credit and noncredit and performing arts courses, as well as media internships or certificate programs. The Tisch Summer Dance Residency Festival also offers an opportunity to study with professional dance companies.
