      Studying the ocean and human interaction with the ocean, students undertake coursework ashore in oceanography, nautical science and maritime literature and history, followed by a practical component of hands-on marine science and blue-water sailing in the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean. Students are full participants aboard in the operation and navigation of a 134' brigantine with a scientific mission and ongoing student research projects.
