CET Beijing Intensive Chinese Language Program Contact:	CET's Beijing Chinese Language Program's curriculum is both intensive and integrated. A core course gives equal emphasis to the four main language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening while focusing on a different topic of study each week. Advanced students also choose elective classes such as newspaper, business or literature to add further scope to their language learning. Students take a total of 20 class hours per week of core, supplementary and elective courses, depending on their level. All students have a one-hour individual tutorial each week to review new material and practice free response conversation. In addition, each week students take two hours of one-on-two instruction that targets pronunciation, intonation and fluency.

CET Summer Chinese Language Immersion in Hangzhou Contact:	The Hangzhou Summer Immersion curriculum is designed for students who will be pursuing careers related to China. Grammar and drill classes emphasize general competence in the four basic skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Small group classes offer students the chance to focus on specific areas of linguistic interest such as business, law, newspaper, literature or history. One-on-one tutorials complement the core curriculum while targeting each student's individual learning needs. Finally, weekly practica challenge students to practice their skills in daily life. For example, practica assignments might require students to ask directions, inquire about weekend movie screenings or interview locals about a variety of topics from family planning policies to China's globalization.

The goal of this program is to provide students from US colleges and universities the opportunity to study Chinese language, history, arts, culture, recent economic developments and social trends.
CET Intensive Chinese Language Program in Harbin Contact:	The curriculum, perfect for students with research interests, includes one-on-two drill classes, small group electives and student-designed independent study classes--a student favorite. Students who have completed at least four semesters of college-level Chinese or the equivalent may elect Harbin's "research track". Designed for advanced learners of Chinese, particularly those who are enrolled, or are planning to enroll, in a graduate program, the research track allows students to conduct guided thesis research under the direction of a Chinese faculty member. Research track students also take Classical Chinese, an area of study that prepares them for further research in their chosen field of study. Finally, a composition or pronunciation class rounds out the research track curriculum. Regular (non-research track) Harbin students take a total of 20 class hours per week. All students are required to take the one-on-one tutorial and the one-on-two drill. They must also choose two group classes in which enrollment is usually four or five students per class.
