Program Description:
The University at Albany offers programs that provide for a semester or an academic year of study and/or research at three institutions in South Korea: Yonsei University located in Seoul, Hallym University located in Chuncheon, and Yeungnam University located in Daegu. Although the programs are intended for undergraduates, graduate students may participate. The city of Chuncheon, 1.5 hours from Seoul, where Hallym University is located, is renowned as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Korea. Founded in 1982, Hallym University (HU) is well recognized both at home and internationally. Currently HU has seven colleges, which includes 37 majors, a graduate school and four professional graduate programs.

Setting Description:
Hallym International School (HIS), a division of the Institute of Global Education (IGE), was established to promote an international community at Hallym University. Korean Language Education Center (KLEC) was established in August, 2004 under the aegis of the Institute of Global Education to teach Korean language and culture to international students from around the world. KLEC has various Korean language programs designed to improve communicative competence and performance.
