Program Description:
The University at Albany's program at the University College Galway offers students the opportunity to study Irish Studies in the Galway region for 4 weeks during the summer term. Students are immersed into daily life, live in fully furnished apartments and take classes at NUI Galway along with other international students. There are also a variety of extracurricular activities offered in the evenings and weekends.

Setting Description:
Course work will highlight Irish Studies while incorporating elements from various contributing disciplines. Interdisciplinary seminars focusing on key themes such as Identity, Emigration, and Religion navigate the overall topic of Irish studies in various directions. Actual course offerings include: Irish History, Archaeology, Literature and Film, Gaelic Culture, Irish Language, Traditional Music and Dance and Art in Ireland.
