What better place to study the flow of information from an organization to the public than in London, one of the world's most powerful and vibrant cities? This program is lead by Michael A. Dickerson, a Professor of Advertising & Public Relations in George Mason University's Communication Department who has done public affairs work on a number of Presidential Inaugural Committees, is currently an Advisor to the Public Relations Student Society of America, and is also a private consultant in public relations and communication. During this program students gain unique access to various PR firms, the British Broadcasting Corporation, the Cabinet War Rooms, a government public affairs office, and an international association.

London: Contemporary British Theatre

Three examples of the 8 - 10 world-class performances participants will attend are a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Romeo and Juliet in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oedipus Rex at the National Theatre, and at least one performance from the T.S. Eliot Festival at the intimate Donmar Warehouse . The remainder of the program will be filled with West End and fringe productions and at least one of the top musical productions.

Explore the life and literature of Jane Austen with Towson University in January 2009. The program includes time spent in Hampshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire, London and other spots associated with Jane Austen and her novels. Students will see first-hand the part of England made so famous in Austen's novels and the films based on them. Students will read Austen's major novels, keep a travel log and write a research paper due by mid-March.
