Highlights include: study of Balinese culture; Indonesian language instruction; homestays and service work in the traditional Indonesian village of Balaban; introduction to Thai culture in Bangkok; trekking among the northern Thai border hill tribe communities; community service activities with the Karen hill tribe; a 10-day Buddhist mediation retreat; excursions to The Killing Fields in Cambodia; service work at Ptea Teuk Dong (PTD), a center for street families on the outskirts of Phnom Penh; and exploration of the legendary temples of Angkor Wat.
