Motivated high school students engage in challenging cross-cultural experiences for 3 - 5 weeks living as members of host families. Each program provides immersion in the daily culture of a single place and people. Many Experimenters become engaged in the life of another country through community service or travel, some study the language of their new country, while others explore international ecological problems.

SYA Italy opened its Classics program in 2001 with the goal of offering its students an in-depth, interdisciplinary approach to the classical world while learning a modern language. The courses offered are Latin language (4 levels through AP) and literature, Greek, ancient history, art history, Italian civilization, Italian language, English and mathematics. All courses are taught in English with the exception of Italian. There is no language pre-requisite to apply.

This summer, the University of Dallas once again offers a program in Latin at our Eugene Constantin Campus at Due Santi, Italy. Participants will study several passages from Cicero, Virgil, and Livy. Students will also read selected literature in translation to support travels in and around Rome.
