School Year Abroad-Japan
|
The year long academic program is based on an American private school curriculum, with classes in Math and English at various levels, including advanced placement. Additionally, the SYA Japan curriculum will focus on Japan's complex and rich history, art history, and include intensive Japanese language training.
The rigorous academic program is rounded out with 20 days of scheduled field trips around Japan. These trips will complement the academic content, and provide students a chance to relax and experience Japan. Students may also receive permission to travel independently, taking advantage of Japan's incredibly well organized and safe public transportation.
Students will be guided in seeking out extracurricular activities that immerse them in their adopted community.
All secondary-school standardized tests (PSAT's, Sat's, AP's) and college counseling are provided on the SYA site.
