The University of New Orleans is pleased to offer the rare opportunity to study poetry writing and the works of Ezra Pound, one of the 20th Century's most influential, innovative and controversial poets.
Our program includes: a study of Pound's works; lectures by Pound's daughter, Mary de Rachewiltz; access to the Pound archives at Brunnenburg; poetry writing workshop and manuscript conferences; 4 days and 3 nights in Venice; 3 1/2 weeks in a medieval castle compound in the Italian Alps.
Brunnenburg Castle is situated in the province of South Tirol or Alto Adige in northern Italy. It served as Pound's residence during his later years and is currently the home of his daughter, Mary de Rachewiltz. Students reside in a renovated 17th-century farmhouse within the castle compound.
The program provides the unusual opportunity for a limited number of undergraduates, graduate students and others interested in modern poetry and/or creative writing to write poetry and study the works of Ezra Pound.
