Volunteer teach in Hanoi. ELI works with schools and language development programs in and around Hanoi. Volunteers can work year round with community based English development programs which provide after school help to students, summer language camps, and adult classes. Volunteers also have the option to work at a primary school during the September-May school year. ELI works with primary schools in Hanoi and the surrounding provinces, so volunteers can choose either a city location or a small town. Volunteers wanting to work with adults can join one of the English programs that aid stigmatized populations such as school dropouts, the unemployed, HIV/AIDS patients, or sex workers. Each program offers a chance to get to know energetic students eager to learn English along with the unforgettable experience of living in Hanoi.

Our projects are in Hanoi, one of Asia's most captivating capital cities: a blend of ancient influences and slow-paced, European flavors. Tree-lined boulevards and cozy sidewalk cafes rub shoulders with ancient pagodas and shrines.

We begin in Hanoi, amidst the shaded streets, French colonial architecture, and lakes which grace the downtown core. We visit Hoa Binh, just outside Hanoi, to see minorities such as the Muang and Dao, and then we move on to the famous caves at Tam Coc. At Halong Bay, we travel on the turquoise waters amid spectacular, cliff-faced islands and warm water.
