LEAPNow, Inc. Lifelong Ed. Ring of Fire: A Journey for Men
Contact:
LEAPNOW created Ring of Fire because there is little societal support for the needs of young men, and a similar dearth of programs to meet their needs. As a society, we do very little to prepare our young adults for adulthood. Most young adults are confused about when they can be considered adults. Many traditional males are no longer acceptable or easily available - such as the opportunity to protect, provide for and take risks for the community. To successfully become and, equally important, "feel" like a man, a young man needs strong male role models who have balanced the masculine and feminine within, needs opportunities to wander, take risks and be ruggedly physical. A young man needs a variety of challenges to map his strengths and capabilities. Ring of Fire is an opportunity to for young men to make this map.
