    Students earn 3 credits in Basic Mandarin and Chinese Culture through an experiential course which combines homestays, community service, traditional classroom learning, and cultural activities for an incredible experience. Students will participate in lectures, discussions with locals, field activities including cultural site visits, as well as ongoing service work at a Tibetan Orphanage. Students will learn ethnographic research techniques. Students will visit and study the cities of Shangri-La and Beijing and also take short looks at several other locations each with differing challenges.
