Courses offered at the Institute for American Universities are comparable to those offered in universities in the United States. Students must enroll in the Studio Seminar, the Art Criticism Seminar and one art history class. Museum and painting excursions are also required. Marchutz students may choose one or two French language courses from IAU's liberal arts program in Aix-en-Provence, The Aix Center.
