AsiaLearn provides college/university students with study abroad opportunities in various locations throughout Asia. All programs include invaluable support services and opportunities for exciting excursions.

Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and no prior language skill is required. Some or all courses are taught in English at each university, and foreign language classes are strongly encouraged.

Although Sichuan Unviersity is a comprehensive institution with a ride range of academic programs available, the university has developed a program of study designed specifically for international students who wish to learn about Chinese language and culture. This programs offers a range of courses to meet the academic needs of students from a variety of academic areas and requires no prior language study. Courses are taught in English.

During these discussions, you are given an opportunity to broaden your learning not only from guest speakers, but also by sharing your own experiences with other class members as well. As a complement to the discussions, hands-on interactive activities in local communities act to deepen ones understanding as well.

Students can choose up to a maximum of three classes from the academic areas of Economics and Business, Humanities, Sociology and Cultural Studies, Law, Politics and International Relations, Science, Korean Studies, Korean Language and Fine Art/Design. National University Singapore and AsiaLearn - Asian Perspective: Learn Mandarin and Uncover Southeast Asia

You will learn the basics of Mandarin in daily morning lessons. In the afternoon, there will be lessons on Chinese and Southeast Asian history and cultures. Learn the art and technique of brewing Chinese tea at a teahouse, 'combat' during Wushu (Chinese martial arts) sessions, attempt brushstrokes in our Chinese calligraphy class and discover the therapeutic power of acupuncture. There will also be lecture discourses covering the history and national identities of Southeast Asia, as well as the integration of people in the region. Lessons are not confined to the classrooms. You will actively participate in fieldtrips to local museums and places of worships, attend hands-on workshops where you can sing and dance to traditional Balinese music, create your very own Batik art and embark on an archaeological tour. Through our film studies on Southeast Asia, you will also learn more about the region in an enjoyable and engaging manner. Course Load

Certain afternoons are reserved for self-revision and recreational activities. There will also be plenty of chances during the weekends for you to explore Singapore and neighboring islands and countries.
