One of the many wonderful things about art is that you can create it anywhere. Whether you make time to draw on the train ride to work, or you paint in the classroom at school, the world is open to your imagination. But sometimes even the best imagination needs a little inspiration. If you’re stuck in a rut or looking for something new, you might be surprised to find that what you need is waiting not around the corner but across the globe.
Lauren, an art student from the United States, found inspiration during her semester abroad in Florence. She took the opportunity to surround herself with other creative individuals and become fully immersed in the art studio. She says, “I studied fresco painting, drawing, and photography, and was fortunate to learn from teachers who were seasoned artists.” Of course, being in Europe, she also got to learn about art outside of the classroom. She says, “My coursework in studio classes allowed me to better appreciate the incredible artwork I saw while traveling throughout Europe.” She was able to view world renown masterpieces first hand and take that inspiration back to the studio with her, where she created unique masterpieces all her own.
