The first two weeks in Tunisia consist of Arabic language lessons, classes, seminars, and travel focused on Tunisia's ancient and modern history and its cultures, societies, and pathways to economic development. Participants then shift to the English Language Village located near the Mediterranean seaside town of Nabeul to serve as Language & Cultural Fellows.

Honors Program in North African Studies in Rabat, Morocco (Semester/Academic Year)
Students in the AMIDEAST Honors Program in North African Studies carry a 17 credit hour load each semester. All students enroll in Modern Standard Arabic, Media Arabic and Moroccan Arabic, in addition to the two seminars specific to the Honors program. All courses are taught exclusively for the AMIDEAST program, and students take classes only with other program participants. Learn and Serve in Egypt (Summer)
Students can choose to participate in either a 6 week or 8 week Learn & Serve program in Egypt. The two programs are identical in structure, with the 8 week program providing a two week extension of the internship placement. The 8 week program may be suitable for students who prefer to stay in Egypt longer or whos home institution may require a longer period of internship in order to fulfill a service learning requirement. Students on both programs will earn a total of 6 credits.
