Intensive Arabic in Cairo (Summer)
The Summer Intensive Arabic Program in Cairo, Egypt offers Modern Standard Arabic in two 4-week sessions. Classes meet 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Each student will receive 100 hours of Arabic language instruction in each session, including both Modern Standard Arabic and colloquial Arabic. One summer session covers the material usually presented in one semester on a U.S. campus. History of Engineering students participate in program-organized excursions to many parts of Egypt to visit major attractions and historical sites. Learn and Serve in Egypt (Summer)
Students can choose to participate in either a 6 week or 8 week Learn & Serve program in Egypt. The two programs are identical in structure, with the 8 week program providing a two week extension of the internship placement. The 8 week program may be suitable for students who prefer to stay in Egypt longer or whos home institution may require a longer period of internship in order to fulfill a service learning requirement. Students on both programs will earn a total of 6 credits.
