The State University of New York (SUNY) currently offers more than 400 overseas study programs in more than 50 countries: in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Programs range from 2-3 week intensive courses to a semester or academic year abroad. Courses are available in more than 100 subjects, ranging alphabetically from aboriginal studies and aerospace engineering to western philosophy and women's studies. Duke in Istanbul

The Duke in Istanbul program, directed by Professor Guven Guzeldere of the Philosophy Department, aims at introducing cultural, historical, social, political, and religious issues emerging at the intersection of Europe and the Middle East, with particular attention to the unique position of Turkey within the global context. The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to area and cultural studies, offering a coherent curriculum organized around four courses together with an integrated component of cultural activities and excursions during the semester.
