Course work includes language study and a lecture course on Nepal studies, culture, history, politics and contemporary change. A seminar on research design, methodology and proposal writing prepares students for independent or group field research in the humanities, social sciences or sciences, under the supervision of Tribhuvan University faculty. Classroom instruction is supplemented by field training in several short field trips and one longer group study tour to give students experience in different cultural and ecological regions of the country.
