Unlike traditional immersion programs, we give you a taste of the entire globe as you travel more than 24,000 nautical miles to as many as 12 off-the-beaten-path international destinations or to a fascinating world region for intensive exploration. Approximately 75 upper- and lower-level courses are offered in a variety of subject areas.
International Honors Program (IHP) Contact:	IHP offers a unique set of theme-based, multi-country study abroad programs. Students study a particular theme in several different countries over the course of the semester, year or summer. The exploration of issues will involve direct contact and interaction with local experts, activists, educators, community members, public figures, and leaders of various government and community organizations.
ISA (International Studies Abroad) ISA Multi-Country program in Peru and Argentina Click here to contact	View all programs for this school The Multi-Country program to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Lima, Peru gives students the unique opportunity to experience two completely different cities, countries, and cultures during the course of one semester. Students will experience the elegant and lively atmosphere of Buenos Aires as well as the bustling fusion of history and modernity in Lima. Although the differences between these cities will be immediately apparent to the students, this program offers students the chance to go beyond initial appearances and arrive at the heart of these two cultures. After having spent an extended period of time at each of the program sites, students will be able to draw cultural and linguistic comparisons between the sites and will more fully understand the essence of Hispanic culture.

SEA Semester: Ocean Exploration (Interdisciplinary) Contact:	An interdisciplinary ocean studies semester which combines natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences with hands-on research and sailing experience. Understanding the oceans is an essential aspect of appreciating how the world works and how we relate to it as human beings. The sea is so complex that it is impossible to comprehend from the perspective of a single academic discipline. With that in mind, this interdisciplinary SEA Semester program combines insights from oceanography, humanities, and social sciences with practical skills in seamanship, allowing students to deepen their awareness of and appreciation for the ocean through hands-on research and personal experience.

SEA Semester: Documenting Change in the Caribbean (Humanities) Contact:	A social sciences and humanities intensive semester focused on understanding 500 years of change in the multicultural Caribbean region, from pre-European contact to the present day.The Caribbean Islands have seen enormous changes in the last five centuries. Europeans brought devastating diseases that decimated native populations, and transported millions of enslaved Africans to the islands to work plantations of newly introduced crops. Today, the dynamic mix of cultures and biota bears little resemblance to the islands encountered by Christopher Columbus. As a tourist destination in the 21st century, the Caribbean continues to change as new demands are placed on limited resources. SEA Semester: Documenting Change in the Caribbean explores how we can document these changes using the source materials and methodological approaches of both the humanities and sciences.

International Honors Program Cities in the 21st Century Contact:	A small group of students and faculty will travel to Detroit, U.S.; Delhi and Chandigarh, India; Cape Town, South Africa; and Buenos Aires, Argentina during the fall semester to explore issues related to urban planning, politics, economics, and environments (both social and ecological). Study in traditional settings is complemented by on-site comparisons of policy and social movements. Students will earn 16 credits over the semester.

University of Kansas Humanities and Western Civilization Semester Abroad in Italy and France Contact:	The KU Humanities and Western Civilization program is a unique program that allows students to study in English in the countries of Italy and France. The program consists of four integrated courses, all taught by KU faculty. Two of these comprise the two-semester Western Civilization requirement.
