Classes are comprised of other foreign and American students. Semester, summer, and year terms are available for all programs, and a January intersession program is available in Florence. Students typically receive 12-18 credits for a semester; 3-6 credits for a summer session. Most classes are taught in English, though many are taught in Italian. Lorenzo de' Medici Three Cities Program

Take a semester to retrace the steps of Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance cultures by living in the three cities which embody these civilizations: Tuscania, Rome and Florence/Venice. Students take 15 credits (US transfer possible). Established in 1973, LdM is one of the largest and leading international schools in Italy and now offers joint programming between all four of its sites. Ldm has campuses in Florence, Rome Tuscania, and Venice with over 400 course offerings covering a wide range of subjects. LdM currently has a working faculty of approximately 180 dedicated and qualified instructors from Italy and the world. Courses are taught in English and are held throughout the year. SUNY New Paltz Study Abroad in Urbino, Italy

The New York Times describes Urbino as "a time capsule tucked away in hills near the Adriatic Coast, (offering) a better idea of what life in the Renaissance must have been like than all the monuments of Florence and Rome. Urbino is Italy at its best." In this program, which runs from early October to late May, students enroll in intensive Italian language courses for foreign students, taught by native-born faculty from the University of Urbino. Students then take three, year-long regular university courses. Fields of study include business, economics, history, humanities, language study, literature, and social sciences.
